ArtDeCounterPoint is the opening concert of the Vilnius Spring Festival, launching the festival with a bold and vibrant creative gesture. This evening is dedicated to the very process of music coming into being – the moment when an idea is still taking shape and a composition is searching for its final form.
The festival’s opening concert will present works currently in the process of creation, composed especially for the festival. This is music that is not only performed, but conceived with this specific space, these performers, and a living dialogue with the audience in mind.
On stage, Motiejus Bazaras (keyboards), Mykolas Bazaras (double bass, bass guitar), and Benediktas Bazaras (percussion) will join forces with the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Modestas Barkauskas.
ArtDeCounterPoint is a play of counterpoints not only in music, but in the very idea of creation itself: between the written score and free impulse, between the individual voice and collective energy. It marks the beginning of the festival and invites the listener to become not merely an observer, but an active participant in the musical process.
